Kudam Laboratory is the Tentamus Group’s reference laboratory for coronavirus PCR analysis (SARS-CoV-2) in wastewater.
These analyses have become a fundamental early warning epidemiological tool for the early identification of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in different communities and populations.
Due to the impact that the analytical results can have on the decision-making of the different administrations, laboratories must have strict internal and external quality control to ensure the results of the tests. One of the fundamental controls that allow the effectiveness of these analyses to be verified is the intercomparison exercises. Last October, IELAB (Independent Supplier), organised one of the first exercises for the detection and quantification of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater in which Laboratorio Kudam participated.
Today, Laboratorio Kudam reports excellent results in this exercise, in which two samples of wastewater (A and B) have been analysed for the presence of SARS-CoV-2, with results of quantification of z-score (number of standard deviations from the mean, where 0 represents the value with the smallest deviation) of 0.6 and 0 respectively.
Once again, the Tentamus Group laboratories continue to meet the highest quality standards. The objective as a consolidated Group is to continue offering all customers the highest technical competence, guaranteeing maximum efficiency in each of the analytical services.
